Lemon Squeezy for Vietnam sellers (2026)

Low / cautionHighLast verified:

Low feasibility as a primary rail. Official VN support is real, but community reports of KYC friction, rejected stores, and held payouts are material. Stripe’s ownership adds a roadmap question on top of the support complaints.

Evidence

Official docs list Vietnam; current community sentiment is materially negative. Update Sep 2026: Stripe acquired Lemon Squeezy in Jul 2024. As of 2026 it still operates independently with no announced shutdown date, but Stripe is steering merchants toward its own 'Stripe Managed Payments' MoR product as the eventual successor. This ownership/roadmap context is separate from, and additional to, the KYC/payout complaints already noted.

Non-viable reason

Community reports of KYC friction, store rejection, payout holds/support issues; despite official VN support.

High: merchants often report holds, sudden reviews, or support dead-ends. Do not make this your only processor.

FAQ

Does Lemon Squeezy officially support Vietnam?

Yes. Official docs list Vietnam, and both individuals and businesses are marked Yes. The Low rating comes from community risk, not from a missing country flag.

Why is community risk High?

Merchants report KYC friction, store rejection, payout holds, and weak support. Those reports are common enough that we would not use Lemon Squeezy as the only billing rail.

What did the Stripe acquisition change?

Stripe acquired Lemon Squeezy in July 2024. As of 2026 it still operates independently with no announced shutdown date, but Stripe is steering merchants toward Stripe Managed Payments as the eventual MoR successor. That is separate from the KYC and payout complaints.

Should a Vietnam seller start here?

Not as the primary processor. If you already have a healthy Lemon Squeezy store, keep a documented backup. New sellers should prefer Paddle or FastSpring.
